Xavier University Workshop

Xavier University Workshop

Wow. I am literally so full. I was invited by the Epsilon Tau Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated to be the guest speaker for their Pink Table Talk event that was initiated last semester. For me it was an opportunity to host my first professional development workshop with college students but more specifically at Xavier University, a beautiful HBCU located in New Orleans breeding and educating the top black doctors in North America.

The workshop was titled “Self Esteem & Wardrobe 101: Professional Development for Young Professionals.” There were literally 100 young women in attendance. We talked about what self-esteem actually means, what it’s made of, how affirmations help us to unlock our confidence, body-type, the famous FLA formula I created, how to dress professionally, proper undergarments, how to look polished, and shopping & styling tips!

I am so grateful to be able to share my gift and function in one of my many dreams. I am grateful to have the opportunity to reach and teach other young women who absolutely deserve everything and if they don’t know, I’ll be there every time to remind them. I am grateful to have the support of my family, friends, and so many others.

Thank you to my mom and fiancé for always supporting me near or far in helping me prepare. Special thank you to my grandmother who was able to drive down with me and eat up some good food and be treated like first class citizens by the hotel staff. And thank you to my little cousin, future Dr. Morgan Williams, who mentioned my name in the room of opportunity within her sorority. Thank you the Epsilon Tau Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and the committee chair for affording me the opportunity!

Please enjoy a few of my favorite clips from the presentation!
